General FAQ's

Where does the valuation come from?

It comes from an automated system that identifies the vehicle from its registration number called CAP. CAP is the benchmark valuation guide for the automotive industry, providing used vehicle valuations.

What is a market or trade value?

A market or trade value is the value you would expect to get if you were to part-exchange the vehicle.

What is a retail value?

A retail value is the value you would expect to pay if the vehicle were for sale at a dealer.

Is the offer I've received to buy my car guaranteed?

No, because we use an automated system to supply the offer; our offer/valuation is based on the description that you provide. Once you have decided to sell your vehicle a member of our team will contact you to confirm the information you have given us. If your appraisal does not match the condition of your vehicle upon collection, we may have to revalue your car accordingly.

If there is a decrease in the value of your car, this amount will either be deducted from the balance that we transfer into your bank account or if you have opted for a cheque on collection, we will ask you to pay the reduction via credit or debit card.

Can you value a van?

Yes, via the text system only, but we have to do it manually so there will be a delay in you receiving your valuations. You should receive them within 5 hours of texting Mon- Fri. However, there are some cases where the system is unable to value the vehicle due to insufficient CAP data.

Can you value a motorbike/moped?

No, unfortunately we do not have the facility to do this.

Can you value a motor home?

No, unfortunately we do not have the facility to do this.

How will I be paid for my vehicle?

The most secure and convenient way to pay you for your vehicle is with an electronic bank transfer directly into your bank account. This service is completely free to you and in almost all cases we can make the electronic transfer whilst the collection driver is at your agreed collection address. You should receive an e-mail from your own bank confirming that the payment has been made.

What happens if I miss a scratch or dent?

Our valuation is based on the description that you provide. Once you have decided to sell your vehicle a member of our team will contact you to confirm the information you have given us. What happens if I have outstanding finance on my car?

We will settle any outstanding finance on your vehicle as part of the transaction. Due to 'Data protection' laws you may have to obtain your settlement in writing on our behalf.

If you wish to settle the finance yourself we will need written confirmation of payment from your finance company prior to us paying for and collecting the car.

If you owe more on your finance than the sale price of the car you will need to pay us the balance prior to us collecting the car.

General FAQ's

I've text the registration but had no reply/valuations sent?

If you don't receive a valuation within 1 hour check the registration number by entering it into our on-line valuation service, if you are taken to our PayPal page the vehicle can be valued and you should receive your valuations shortly, if not, unfortunately we are unable to value your car. This is due to insufficient CAP data for the vehicle, so system cannot identify the make, model etc. And therefore cannot value it.

There is the odd occasion when the vehicle needs to be valued manually, so there will be a delay in you receiving your valuations. You should receive them within 5 hours of texting Mon- Fri. 8:30am - 5:00pm.

I haven't had a reply/valuation sent, will I still be charged?

Not if you don't receive them, you are only charged for text messages received.

The password I have received via text won't work.

Make sure you enter the required information correctly, if it is still not working send us the registration number, mileage, your mobile number and the password via our contact us page and we will send you your mileage adjusted values and an offer for your car.

I have entered a registration on-line; it says it can't be valued?

This is due to insufficient CAP data for the vehicle, so system cannot identify the make, model etc. And therefore cannot value it.
